Blog Tour: The Manhattan Girls, Gill Paul

Its my pleasure to be on the tour for this dazzling read.

Charlestoning up the plot:

NEW YORK CITY, 1921

An impossible dream. The war is over, the twenties are roaring, but in the depths of the city that never sleeps, Dorothy Parker is struggling to make her mark in a man’s world. A broken woman. She’s penniless, she’s unemployed and her marriage is on the rocks when she starts a bridge group with three extraordinary women – but will they be able to save her from herself? A fight for survival. When tragedy strikes, and everything Dorothy holds dear is threatened, it’s up to Peggy, Winifred and Jane to help her confront the truth before it’s too late. Because the stakes may be life or death…

A new novel from the internationally bestselling author, Sex and the City meets the 1920s in this sweeping tale of love, loss and the everlasting bonds of friendship. Perfect for fans of Fiona Davis, Dinah Jefferies and Chanel Cleeton.

Bobs and Books honest review:

This could not have been more perfectly timed as I am soon to be starring in a 1920s murder mystery at my local theatre group so have been feeling a 1920s New York vibe the past few weeks.

Being able to immerse myself so much in this world the author creates, has made the experience so much more exciting for me. This oozes 1920s life- the glitz, the glamour, the city. Although, I felt a little lazy in my trackies reading this and wildly out of place. When I get my flapper dress on, I'll be right there in this book.

Fascinating women's stories, highlighting key feminist issues that still remain topical today whilst we experience their turbulence in this bumpy ride. Female friendship is so strong in this read, I adored it.

So get your best glad rags on, and enjoy this gorgeous and glamorous read.
