Happy Publication Day to Jesse Sutanto, Jane Fallon and Zena Barrie!

Updated: Apr 29, 2021

29 April is a truly special day for publications! I've picked my Top 3 that I recommend you feasting your eyes upon.

Dial A For Aunties

Meddy accidentally kills her blind date and the first person she calls is her Mum. Her many aunties join in this cover up to try and help Meddy. An earlier timeframe shows Meddy at University with a love interest. The past seems to catch up with her in the middle of the cover up...

Strap yourselves in, this is one bonkers ride in the best possible way.

If you are looking for a cheeky, fun, insane, unexpected read then this is the book for you. You will cringe, gasp, giggle, belly laugh and shake your head in disbelief at the crazy antics in this book. Meddy and her aunts get up to so much craziness; throw in a romance storyline, an unusual wedding and aunties with their own unique qualities and you have this utterly fabulous chaos. Side splittingly funny, tears of laughter all the way. Also great to see a different culture represented. Cannot wait to see this when it airs on Netflix. With many thanks to HQ for a copy of this.

Worst Idea Ever

Georgia and Lydia are besties and to support Lydia's new online business, Georgia befriends her under a different guise on Twitter to try and boost her confidence. Lydia becomes friendly with her new Twitter pal and starts to disclose secrets about Georgia and more.

Jane Fallon does it again!

For fans of Jane Fallon, this does not disappoint. If new to her, this would be an excellent introduction.

A story of suspense, trust, friendship, loyalty and deceit.

A cheating husband, loyal best friend, surrounding friends, and embarrassing moments all lead to uncover the twists and turns throughout this book.

A perfect amount of everything leads to an exhilarating showdown. Fallon at her finest.

Loved it.

Your Friend Forever

We meet Maud, 12, in Preston 1981. No-one really gets her so she writes endless letters to Tom Harding the lead singer of a punk band called Horsefly.

Oh my goodness I loved this. The early letters Maud sends are just adorable, from matter of fact family life, to frankness of women's bodies, to real laugh out loud moments involving cottage cheese, £12, a donkey and many more.

The book is one of two halves, and the

second half sees a grown up Maud, with adult dilemmas, more clued up on sex and relationships, and still with her love for Tom.

This made me laugh but I also wanted to hold her tight at times. Definitely relatable to me with the scatty thought processes but ultimately she's lovely.

Great plot. I thought I might get bored of the letter form after the first few but I really didn't, in fact I wanted more. Hint- keep an eye out for how she addresses them- very entertaining.

Very clever, witty, fun and frank.

Look forward to sharing more reviews with you soon.
